About:
At the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968, Dick Fosbury won the gold medal in the athletics event of the high jump using the “back-first” technique for the first time.
The Fosbury Flop, an experiment attempted by a mediocre 21-year-old athlete instantly made clear the impossibility of approaching that discipline by continuing to follow the techniques of the past.
The Fosbury Flop is not a hymn to progress and invention (there was no refined thinking behind that jump), but an invitation to look at the obstacle with a lateral glance and to overcome it by literally turning your back.
The Fosbury Flop is an undisciplined proposal, but the result of a careful reading.
Fosbury Architecture is an architectural practice based in Milano, Italy.
