ABDR Architetti Associati
ABDR is a professional studio based in Rome. Founded by Maria Laura Arlotti, Michele Beccu, Paolo Desideri and Filippo Raimondo in 1982, ABDR activities are carried out combining professional practice and modern didactic and scientific research, regularly published in many national and international magazines and dedicated monographies. The studio has often represented Italian design on official events (such as the Shanghai Expo in 2010) and has been awarded with many honours and prizes (the “EuroSolar” in 2003, the “Europe & Africa Property Awards” in 2010, the mention for the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture in 2012, the nominee at the European Union Prize - Mies Van Der Rohe Award in 2013 and the Inarch/ANCE national prize for the New Opera House in Florence in 2014).
ABDR is member of the OICE. In 2013 the studio offered part of its archive to the MAXXI, National Museum of XXI century Arts, permanent collection. ABDR is one of the most important professional studios on the Italian and international scene. Its work is focused on great infrastructural projects in the public and private sectors and on architecture at a high level of complexity.
Some of the studio’s recently completed and under construction projects have to be mentioned: the Pavilion “Italia” at Expo Astana 2017, the New High Speed Train Station in Casablanca, the New High Speed Train Station “Roma Tiburtina”, the New Opera House in Florence, the Classical Opera and Ballet House in Astana, the Refurbishment of the National Archaeological Museum in Reggio Calabria, the Urban Renewal “Via Giustiniano Imperatore” in Rome, the New Subway Stations of the B1 Line in Rome, the “Palazzo delle Esposizioni” Refurbishment and the Renovation of the “ex-serra Piacentini” in Rome, the Pedestrian Promenade with facilities in Barletta and the expansion of the Archaeological Museum in Sibari.
