Footbridge in Varese
The construction of a pedestrian passageway that crosses the provincial road SP1 of Varese lakeside resort in Lissago-Schiranna, is one of the fundamental requirements to facilitate the tourist routes from Campo dei Fiori, from Varese to the lake, to reach the crowded track cycle- pedestrian. The new bridge connecting exploits the difference in height of about two meters between Via Palmieri and the main road, it is spread with a span of about 12 meters on the roadway, with pedestrian ramps according to the law of another 48 meters towards the village of Lissago. the references to the nature and culture of the lake are obvious: the stems of the trees slightly inclined typical lake flora, the primitive stilts so the lake of Varese with the Virginia Island became a UNESCO site, the pontoons and fishing nets. These elements are reinterpreted design point in the metal structure of the bridge-pier: a dynamic sequence of poles holding up the deck with "rods" and parapets network. The structure of this runway, planned entirely of corten steel, avoids the need for periodic maintenance. Finally, the appearance and color reminiscent of the tree trunks and wooden poles of the pile-dwelling structures found on the lake, making this the catwalk like a big "pontoon" looking recognizable by the observer.
