A dual-aspect apartment is cleared of fit-outs added over time.
A galvanized steel post-and-beam structure replaces a brique foraine wall that had become load-bearing.
This structural underpinning defines the partition grid for the apartment's various functions. Four equal-sized rooms accommodate the entrance hall, bathroom, and two bedrooms. Douglas fir timber-frame walls faced with film-faced plywood partition these rooms.
A raised access floor made of douglas fir joists and pine flooring allows services to be routed. Single-glazed patterned glass sliding aluminum joinery is attached to the steel structure to separate these rooms from a dual-aspect living room/kitchen.
A corrugated galvanized steel ceiling is fixed to the main load-bearing beams to provide acoustic insulation.
Galvanized steel shelving provides storage throughout the apartment and the kitchen.
