CASA MG
Located within a 1930s residential building, Casa MG reinterprets and elevates some of the period’s most distinctive and iconic architectural features, making them a recurring design language at the heart of the apartment’s spatial reorganisation.
A generous longitudinal space guides visitors from the entrance towards the expansive living area. The entrance is defined by custom ultramarine blue boiserie cabinetry, whose deep tones continue seamlessly onto the ceiling, creating a compressed threshold that draws guests towards the home’s social spaces while amplifying the perception of their natural light.
Conceived as a stage for everyday life, the living room reflects the owners’ personality through iconic furnishings in vibrant, pop-inspired colours. This distinctive character permeates every room, emerging as a recurring yet subtle presence throughout the home.
The kitchen is concealed behind a sliding glazed partition. A white panel with blue detailing alternately screens either the entrance or the kitchen, while a circular porthole window establishes visual connections and layered perspectives between the different spaces. This interplay transforms the domestic interior into a place where discovery becomes a continuous experience.
The theme of exploration and surprise extends into the sleeping quarters. Here, the entrance boiserie becomes an inhabitable scenic backdrop that conceals the bedrooms and the guest bathroom, both accessed by passing through the colourful architectural screen.
The curved line, first introduced by the semicircular form of the living room — a clear reference to the apartment’s historical character and to the building’s distinctive exterior — becomes a recurring leitmotif throughout the interior. It reappears in numerous details, from the rounded skirting integrated into the boiserie to the circular porthole in the sliding glass partition. The result is a free-spirited, unconventional domestic landscape, where curiosity is constantly stimulated and monotony has no place.
