Madeleine After-School Centre
The project is a 210 m² after-school centre with a timber structure and frame raised on stilts (600 K€ excl. tax), built in front of the village's two public schools, on the site of a former car park. The ground was fully de-sealed: the building rests on screwed steel piles and timber stilts, above a landscaped swale that extends the ecological continuity between the school street and the fields of the Brière regional nature park. Everything is PEFC-certified timber (structure, frame, ground floor and stud walls), prefabricated in the workshop to keep the construction schedule short, insulated with wood fibre, and screened by timber fins on the façade that act as a solar filter. The two-pitched roof and the great hall with its cathedral ceiling recall the archetype of the house for the children.
