Parco del Sale and Su Siccu promenade
An environmental redevelopment and the creation of a new urban park to connect Cagliari's industrial past and present day leisure activities.
Parco del Sale and Su Siccu promenade are public space projects by Casciu Rango Architetti, a wide environmental regeneration around the Salt Pavilion—an industrial relic overlooking the Golfo degli Angeli, within the Molentargius salt production area in Cagliari.
The intervention establishes a dialogue between new urban functions and the memory of the site, preserving traces of industrial archaeology while reorganizing space through a clear and rational layout. The geometry of the design is softened by spontaneous green elements, which introduce openness and adaptability to the park’s evolving character.
Paths, clearings, and shaded areas now welcome informal activities, everyday walks, and collective pauses—shaping a renewed relationship between the city and its harbour landscapes.
