Don Bosco Children's Home
The building is the The 5-group “Don Bosco” daycare center with family center is the first building block and a key driver in the development of the new school campus in the valley town of Schramberg. (Competition 1st Prize 2020 – 2 schools, – expansion of a sports hall, the daycare center with family center, – integration of the historic cinema)
From the outset, the design focused on a structure built entirely of fir and spruce wood—a natural choice in the Black Forest.
The project is characterized by structural timber construction, a facade of silver fir, ecological natural insulation and materials, heating and cooling via heat pumps, a green water retention roof, a PV system, solid wood stairs and railings, and custom-designed woodwork finished with great attention to detail.
