Country villa with swimming pool
Nestled on a slender plot in the province of Padua, this villa embraces the challenge posed by its unusual site: a narrow strip of land, just 30 meters long, stretching along a north–south axis. The house unfolds along this line, single-storey, crowned with a double-pitched clay tile roof that evokes the timeless character of rural Venetian farmhouses.
Every detail of the design speaks of simplicity and precision. Concealed elements and flush surfaces create a sense of calm minimalism, while the structure’s essential geometry and the natural tones of the materials define its understated elegance. Exposed concrete, pigmented in the mix and cast with vertical plank formwork, gives texture to the façades, while teak decking shapes the solarium, blending comfort with natural beauty.
From the street, the villa remains discreet, shielded by a minimalist fence that mirrors the materials of the house and extends its presence into the landscape. This subtle architectural gesture houses and conceals the outdoor air-conditioning units and pool systems, integrating utility seamlessly into design.
Inside, the floor plan reflects an unwavering clarity. Circulation is kept to a minimum, leaving generous surfaces for the main living areas. A carefully extended roof slope forms a covered porch that bridges the interior living spaces with the pool, resting gracefully on a sculptural, irregular column that punctuates the composition.
Light and openness define the interiors. Expansive glazing in the living areas frames continuous visual connections, while carefully positioned, slender openings in the sleeping quarters preserve privacy without sacrificing natural light. The result is a home where restraint and elegance coexist with comfort, and where every space feels intentional, purposeful, and profoundly connected to its surroundings.
