The building consists of a single parallelepiped volume, with the fronts facing south/north and the tops facing east/west. The built volume is complemented on the south elevation by a metal structure in the form of a gallery, which is very transparent and permeable, providing access to the different units.
The project was designed for a young population, hence the choice of gallery access, which encourages greater interaction among residents. From a construction standpoint, a reinforced concrete structure was chosen; everything else was a “dry” construction using various prefabrication solutions, requiring great design discipline.
In terms of the distribution of the units, the building consists of a basement, four floors, and access to the roof. The different apartments are located on the ground floor, with the smallest units (studio apartments) on this floor. The apartments open onto the south side, allowing for covered parking spaces to be organized on the north side with direct access to the apartments. The commercial unit is located at the top of the west side.
The remaining residential units, types T1 and T3, are distributed from the 1st to the 3rd floors. On the roof of the building, in the vertical access modules, there are communal laundry rooms, a technical area, and a large communal terrace facing south.
Regarding the materials used, inside the apartments and on the floors, we have floating vinyl strips, except in the bathrooms, where glued vinyl rolls were used. The interior walls and ceilings were covered with wood-based panels, except in the bathrooms, where glued vinyl rolls were also used.
For the exterior cladding of the building, we used metal facade panels with thermal insulation, composite aluminum sheet, aluminum blinds, and glass. The access gallery is prefabricated in a metal structure, prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs, and metal tubular railings and electro-welded mesh. This mesh will support the growth of climbing species planted in planters along the galleries, in the voids that separate them from the apartment balconies, and ensures greater privacy.
