This single-storey home in Ghent was designed for a retired couple wishing to age in place with comfort and autonomy. A fully accessible plan arranges served and servant spaces in a clear sequence that supports daily routines as well as future care needs. Exposed CLT frames give the interior its structure and warmth, while three sculptural chimney-like roof volumes bring daylight deep into the house and mark the supporting functions. A small loft for visiting grandchildren adds a gentle sense of continuity across generations. The result is a modest yet generous home that offers a durable framework for living and ageing with grace.
