Milan Linate Airport, SEA Aeroporti di Milano
A photographic project documenting the final phase of the redevelopment works at Milan Linate Airport, commissioned by SEA Aeroporti di Milano. The images capture the transformation of infrastructural space at the moment when construction matter becomes architecture, light, and landscape.
In 2019 I photographed the final phase of the redevelopment works at Milan Linate Airport, commissioned by SEA Aeroporti di Milano as part of the 2015–2030 Master Plan. The project involved the complete resurfacing of the runway and the refurbishment of the terminal interiors, aiming to renew the airport’s image, efficiency, and passenger experience.
My work focused on the closing stage of the construction process — the moment when the infrastructural space is reassembled and its architectural form begins to emerge. Through photography, I explored the technical and human dimensions of the construction site, a transient yet generative space where structure and material reveal their most tangible and poetic essence.
The images capture the transition between work and architecture, between the act of building and the form coming into being. The construction site becomes a landscape in transformation — a place where matter turns into space, light, and vision.
