Medaglia d'oro VI edizione - Architettura Italiana / mostra progetto
A photographic journey across Italy for the 6th edition of the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture, capturing award-winning and commended projects. The work portrays architecture as a living presence within its landscape — where matter, light, and time converge — forming a visual atlas of contemporary Italy.
In 2019, on the occasion of the 6th edition of the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture, promoted by the Triennale di Milano in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities (MiBAC), I realized an extensive photographic project dedicated to the award-winning and commended architectures across the country.
Through a journey that spanned Italy — from major cities to more peripheral contexts — I sought to portray a contemporary image of Italian architecture, capturing the diversity of its languages, landscapes, and human relationships. The photographs, exhibited at the Triennale di Milano in November 2019, present buildings as living presences within their territories: places where matter meets light, and where built form opens itself to time and to the gaze.
The project intertwines documentation and interpretation, constructing a visual atlas of contemporary Italy, in which each architecture becomes a fragment of a broader narrative — that of a country continually redefining its landscape and identity through architecture.
