Mandarina
The program for this office building follows the original constructions on the site and is organized around three courtyards, exposing as much of the perimeter as possible to areas of vegetation in the summer and to leafless trees in the winter. This approach allows interior spaces to extend toward the front and back (northeast and southwest façades), creating changing visual relationships depending on the time of day and the varied scales of the courtyards.
The new offices for the content production company Mandarina also required creating a sense of interior continuity within the compact lot they occupied—a lot typically associated with residential programs—in order to make the most of the site and strengthen the connection among its users, adding shared spaces for interaction. In this sense, by intercalating two floor heights, each work team is connected to the one before and the one after. Additionally, the emergency stair acts as a common space, and through its glass walls, offers views within the building and beyond, to the street and courtyards.
