Casa M33
Located in the center of Igualada, Casa M33 is the renovation of a terraced single-family house, organized around three main voids: the front patio, the rear exit connected to the orchard, and the central light well that articulates the different floors. Each void integrates its own staircase, enriching the perception of movement between levels.
On the lower floors, the central load-bearing wall is preserved, perforated with regular openings to unify proportions and strengthen spatial continuity without the need for corridors. Two distinctive volumes organize the space: a fireplace element that vertically structures the bathrooms, and a large planter from which the staircase rises, introducing vegetation into the heart of the house and establishing a central point of reference.
The material palette is expressed through a monochrome and abstract language: continuous concrete flooring and a unified façade linking interior and exterior patios, while lighter elements — stairs and window frames — are finished in silver, adding contrast and lightness. Fixed oak furniture, used in the kitchen and integrated wardrobes, brings warmth and balances the austerity of the whole.
