Located in Brussels, President is a roof pavilion that enhances a private residence by expanding its living environment toward the cityscape.
The flat roof of a 3-story building has been privatized to host a new structure, measuring 8.25 by 10 meters, anchored to the party walls. The pavilion accommodates a living space, a kitchen, sanitary facilities, and a laundry room, seamlessly connected to the renovated apartment below via a 4.25-meter-high spiral staircase.
Two distinct outdoor spaces complement the design. On the south side, a spacious terrace opens to panoramic city views, effectively doubling the pavilion’s usable surface. On the north side, an intimate terrace offers a cooling retreat with improved air circulation during hot days. This project showcases a thoughtful integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a private oasis in the heart of the city.
