BARCELONA’S STAND FITUR 2025
Barcelona participates in the biggest tourist fair at a time of saturation and social tension. This paradox allows us to rethink how the city presents itself to the world, highlighting its authentic essence, overcoming stereotypes and seeking a new narrative: “La nova Barcelona de sempre” (The new, everlasting Barcelona).
A white wall separates the stand from the fair. This wall is perforated with openings that form an urban façade, offering glimpses of what lies inside. The stand does not open to everyone; instead, it invites those willing to make the effort to discover what happens inside.
In contrast to the sober exterior, the inside is defined by three vivid colours representing distinct spaces: yellow for the transition space, red for the meeting rooms and blue for the main hall. These primary colours symbolize the diversity of the city’s inhabitants and all the nuances that arise from their coexistence.
An audiovisual installation brings the new narrative to life. Images of the city are shown in the wall’s openings, while a series of headphones allows visitors to listen to different testimonies of locals. explaining what Barcelona means to them. This collective story seeks to counter cliches by focusing on the city and those who inhabit it every day.
