Photographer Apartment
The project was approached from the occupation of the perimeter, opening its interior and freeing the centre.
The renovation of an apartment on the outskirts of Barcelona aimed to adapt an old apartment in an isolated block to the current needs of a new family. The distribution had to respond to the flexibility requirements of the users with a series of continuous domestic spaces that could be transformed over time.
The kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms are attached to the pre-existing walls. The concatenation of different low furniture and the sofa, fireplace and storage structure a series of geometric definitions according to the visuals between rooms. The location of the main bathroom in the centre of the apartment allows for circulating it, expanding the sense of spatial continuity with the different interior organisations according to the opening or closing of sliding doors. All this built a sense of openness towards the Mediterranean Sea.
The closed spaces' green, red and blue colours are discovered with the movement of doors and windows. The rest of the floor maintains a minimalist chromatic composition where the different light fixtures are placed as a constellation.
A minimal reform with maximum expression.
