Cabin
The initial approach had been to extend the meandering path that takes you to the top of the hill within the wooded site. To continue it through a series of curving walls that would take you from this high point, away from the hill and deliver you to the canopy. While this remained a core desire, the method of doing so became more rational with time. Resulting in a singular curving wall that carries you through the plan.
As you approach the cabin it is quite rectilinear and hints at an agricultural structure in a plain grey finish. Upon entry you are immediately confronted with the curved wall and rich dark interior. The wall curves away from you in either direction. Light sources in either direction draw you right( to the bed) or left (to the living area) both culminating in a view of th canopy.
People are always drawn to running their hand along the curve as they pass along it. The dark finishes to the walls and ceiling aimed to create a calming atmosphere and to emphasise the contrast of the light from the large openings towards the line of the canopy.
