Casa GZ
The GZ residence is situated on the shores of Lake Garda in a densely urbanized area of great scenic value. Positioned within a grid of single-family villas arranged in a checkerboard pattern, it has been designed to establish a direct connection with the lake and its natural surroundings.
The ground floor houses the living room, kitchen, and some service areas, while the basement hosts a spa and a wine-tasting area. The master sleeping quarters occupy the first floor. All the main spaces are oriented toward the lake, with windows ensuring a continuous and direct connection to the surrounding landscape.
The opening toward the lake is the foundational element of the design. The beams framing the main facade, combined with the reduction of solid walls, help to frame the views, enhancing the landscape's value.
The travertine cladding, chosen for its warm and natural tones, integrates the building into the environment, emphasizing the harmony between architecture and nature.
The GZ residence strives to achieve a balance between functionality and landscape enhancement, transforming the constraints of the urban context into an opportunity to create a rigorous architecture seamlessly integrated with its surroundings.
