Secondary School Luigi Negrelli
The new secondary school “Luigi Negrelli ” in Fiera di Primiero has been built after the demolition of the previous structure, no longer adequate for current school standards, and represents an innovative intervention for the local community. The building has been strategically repositioned along the main road, in continuity with the existing urban fabric, improving its integration with the surrounding context.
Direct access from the road, without fences, is enhanced by a large paved portico in continuity with the sidewalk, which highlights the public nature of the school. In the western part of the lot, instead, space is freed up for a large garden, designed as a recreational area for students and teachers. The functional program is developed on three levels above ground. The teaching environments are organized around a large central void, illuminated from above through a large skylight, which acts as a distribution hub and connection point between the various floors. The essential and contemporary architecture is distinguished by the large windows and linear facades, which give the school a modern and functional appearance. The base of the building, entirely covered in local larch wood, creates a harmonious dialogue with the external public spaces and the urban greenery, integrating naturally into the surrounding context.
