Refurbishment in La Petxina neigborhood
The owners lived in a cozy house, but they had to leave it in the summer because it accumulated heat. Additionally, the layout had poorly utilized corners, the kitchen had become too small, and storage space was limited and uneven. On the other hand, the floor was worn out, and the windows lacked proper sealing. They had initially started looking for tradespeople separately, but none seemed right, and the demands were many, so they decided to seek professional help.

We worked together to clarify their desires and refine a proposal with which they felt comfortable. Ultimately, the project goes far beyond what they initially envisioned. Custom-made furniture has been created to house shoes, wine, books, clothes, vinyl records, and all their everyday items. The kitchen has been integrated with the other furniture, and the spatial quality of the brightest area has been enhanced. The roofs and facades have been insulated, and an investment has been made in better carpentry and an air conditioning system with exposed ducts.

The materiality emphasizes an industrial aesthetic, using microcement, black carpentry, and birch wood, accompanied by soft and even lighting. Carpentry elements have been incorporated to unify all the services: bathroom, storage, kitchen, wardrobes, and decor, adapting to the irregularities and integrating them. The central area of the house is dedicated to the preferred activity: home cinema.
