Eglise Saint Sauveur
The church integrates into its changing urban landscape. Its monolithic brick architecture establishes a link with the region's iconic sacred buildings while remaining open and accessible.
It stands out with a pedestrian forecourt and a welcoming hall (narthex) that encourage encounters. The liturgical space, designed around a circle, evokes the meeting between heaven and earth. However, the space is oriented, open, and in motion in various aspects. The church's ceiling is formed of wooden ribs, giving immateriality to this vault.
Surrounding the central space are several areas that enrich and modulate it. A movable partition allows the meeting room to be opened as needed, functioning as a transept. Along with the welcoming hall and children's area, these are a series of interconnected lateral spaces that the church can open up differently depending on the day or remain in a more intimate form. The simplicity of the composition and choice of materials offers the calm and silence necessary for reflection and prayer.
This church is a place of encounter, openness, and spirituality.
