The seafront promenade in Gabicce Mare
Photo essay by Aldo Amoretti
The project for the new city promenade revisits the public space of the tourist promenade aiming at the sociality and well-being of the community mainly through the elimination of vehicular traffic along the route.
The project, which extends for about 600 meters, continuously changing the texture of the pavement in an almost sartorial way of the design on the ground also in the choice of the proposed materials, resin, stone and wood, offers the possibility of living and relating to a green path adjacent to the beach and composed of hundreds of tall trees and shrubs, thus discovering the charm of the changeability of the days and seasons throughout the year through the change of the vegetative element.
It discreetly accompanies the phrasing of the walk, the punctuation of the furnishings, also designed in relation to the specific location (seats, shading structures) that favor the creation of exclusive spaces of calm and expansion, thus generating places of meeting and relationship.
The route ends at the viewpoint overlooking the canal port with the entrance framed by iconic natural elements defined by the two specimens of sophora pendula and the small square overlooking the historic staircase, against which the new lift body connecting to the upper city, the chirinquito and the service building leans.
