Casa La Loma
The project primarily seeks the revaluation of private space. It proposes an introverted concept, meaning that the house is lived in towards its own interior. The house is composed of a series of massive volumes that reinforce this idea and, at the same time, create an interior atmosphere of peace and rest from urban chaos.
The project is organized through a Central Patio that divides the public and private areas on the ground floor. Circulation flows around this Central Patio and leads the user to different spaces without revealing the other areas. The project transcends retinal beauty. That is to say, it seeks more than just looking good.
Architecture and Landscape merge through intermittent and permeable spaces. It is a proposal that aims to bring the user closer to the materiality of architecture.
A simple palette of materials accounts for this. With carefully selected textures: Stone, Wood, Steel, and Mix Plasters, the construction becomes tactile, natural, and symbiotic.
The Living-Dining space breaks any mold by proposing a Wood Truss with an inclination that opens the volume to a double-height window, revealing a garden that extends the useful area to an open, yet contained and serene landscape. The other spaces have views to similar perimeter gardens, ensuring good lighting and ventilation in every corner of the house.
