The harbour area in Münster is the most important urban development area and the city's new centre of attraction. The expressive structure for Fiege Logistik creates a spatial link with its immediate surroundings and welcomes visitors and users of the building with an inviting gesture. As you enter the slightly ascending campus, your gaze is drawn through the generously glazed lobby to the harbour basin with the opposite shore.
The two-storey foyer flows seamlessly into the cafeteria area. The transition is proportioned in such a way that it creates a spacious communication zone interwoven with the outside space that can accommodate a large audience. It also offers sufficient intimacy for everyday use. In summer, the communication zone and terrace can be combined via large sliding doors to create a large outdoor area.
The origin of the linking of trade routes, the intersection, is the guiding principle of the new logistics centre. This guiding principle is reflected not only in the shape of the building, but also in the access core, allowing a multitude of links between different spatial units.
