Apartment in the 17th arrondissement
This project is located in a Haussmann-style building in Paris’s 17th arrondissement, where Art Deco elements such as stained glass windows and marble fireplaces reflect the era’s distinctive character.
The primary objective was to transform a dark, over- sized entrance into a structuring “gallery.” This gallery reestablishes a strong connection between the various living spaces, creates visual perspectives, and allows natural light to penetrate the heart of the apartment.
A refined approach to custom wood-framed thresholds enhances cross-views and perspectives, fostering both visual and functional fluidity. The rooms remain interconnected while preserving their individuality and intimacy. Hidden wall depths discreetly integrate addi- tional storage solutions.
Stained oak serves as a guiding thread throughout the project, bringing unity to the contemporary architectural design. It is used structurally and decoratively in kitchen elements, bookshelves, shelving, and headboards. The design of these furnishings echoes the moldings of the marble fireplaces and the ornate ceilings.
Meticulous work on false ceilings and lighting was implemented to create tailored lighting atmospheres, adapting to the function of each space.
