ORDENER
This apartment of 25sqm is located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, close to Montmartre in a very lively and typical neighborhood in Paris.
Sarah Chayeb and Pauline Paradis, founders of Chayeb & Paradis, imagined this space as a quiet place, a refuge for their client and his son, perched on the top floor of a Haussmanian building.
When entering the apartment, you walk into a bright living area with views of the surrounding rooftops through the two large windows.
Using the generous ceiling height, Sarah and Pauline designed a big bookcase above the large custom couch in birch plywood. This comfortable daybed allows a nap facing Paris rooftops and Sacré Coeur.
To reinforce the brightness of the apartment the parquet floor was painted in white as well as the walls and stairs. The use of birch plywood for the kitchen which is the same material as the sofa in the living room contrasts nicely with the white ambient chosen by the architects. The small bathroom is entirely covered in blue mosaic glass tiles and mirrors.
In the center of the living room, the metal staircase designed as a sculpture, joins the two bedrooms of the mezzanine. We access the son’s room by a small door inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
