In Orbita
In Orbita is a cultural sharing platform that promotes artistic expression and the resurgence of the arts in public spaces, reaffirming their role in shaping social identity.
Serving as a traveling theater and urban satellite, its ambition is to contribute to urban regeneration, orbiting the city to transform underused spaces into vibrant, meaningful places.
The project stands out for its geometric construction: two eccentric circles, one nested within the other but with different centers, evolve into tangent circles, creating a metaphorical “artistic orbit” that revolves around the community. The platform's tilt echoes the angle of inclination between the plane of the lunar orbit and the ecliptic, symbolizing an ideal space where street arts meet the community in an inclusive embrace.
The project represents an urban stage, a space for spontaneous gathering where public interest and civic participation are reawakened.
The structure, made entirely from panalex, features a radial, symmetric, and barycentric design. It includes a 7-meter diameter inclined ring and a 3.5-meter diameter flat platform. The finish showcases a blue, water-based exterior wood paint.
In Orbita was installed on Via Ettore Rolli in Rome for FAR, the Festival of Architecture of Rome, an initiative celebrating the potential of urban culture in building a vibrant, participatory community.
