Apartment_Ø6
The project consists in the renovation of an apartment in a historical building in the center of Milan. Originally it was a flat of about 210 m2, which was divided into two independent individual units.
Focused demolitions allowed the creation of a spacious living area, the main and common space of the house. The demolished parts are marked with a concrete floor, becoming decorations in the space.
The corridor allows a wider perception of the living area and connects all the spaces in the house. It is no longer a space of mere circulation but becomes a spatial device.
The bedrooms remain more intimate and oriented towards the inner courtyard. Connected with the living area, a third room is used as a working space.
The kitchen, positioned centrally, takes on an architectural rather than functional character, marking the center of the interior and dividing the space. A lamp suspended from the ceiling connects the dining room space with the kitchen space.
The monomaterical floor, contributes to the creation of an abstract and independent space, blending in with the tones of the walls and ceiling.
