AMANDIERS
A Parisian loft located on the ground floor of a building rue des Amandiers : a tall and narrow volume, four meters high, barely six meters of width and a two-twenty of length… The peripheral walls are made of concrete blocks. The ceiling presents a perforated underside. The south facade of the space is the only one that is open. The light distribution is insured by a series of windows placed three meters above the floor. The sole view is directed towards the sky. A tall volume concentrated on itself, suitable for work and creation. This is what captivated the new owners, a company specialized in audiovisual production, that wished for a total transformation of the premises, while relying on its intrinsic qualities.
The project thus preserves the atypical volume of the space. Its length allows working with succession and crossing, the one after the other, from differentiated zones to dedicated use of space. On the polished concrete floor, a game of boxes within the box unfolds : two big volumes greeting the visitor, inviting oneself to move forward. Here, a closed volume contains an office space for the direction, a lodge with a shower and washroom, for pre-shooting preparation. Facing it : a series of storage units made of red tinted pine plywood (batipin) Another volume made of concrete blocks consists of a secured storage space. A kitchen integrated within another stainless steel element of storage. In the center, the shooting space. Moving on, the workspaces with two big desks. At the back of the property, are located four offices behind a big polycarbonate wall.
