Transformation of an office building into apartments
The project is a deep transformation of an office building into an apartment complex. It is both renovation, upward extension and construction (creation of underground carpark covered with one additional building and a unifying garden). Each apartment received at least one private outside area and enjoys the shared garden.
The distinctive characteristic of this project is the different types of apartments: some are finished, others are sold rough and can fit to the owner's wishes. During conception we tried to maximise each space possibilities. Facades and network are designed to be adaptable.
We see this renewing as a strong environmental act: regenerate an existing structure (removing toxic substances and revealing its architectural qualities), give preference to dry process framework (KLH wood panels), increase density and vegetation in a sensible way.
