El Canónigo Garden
El Canónigo garden is located in the Valencia municipality, to the east of the Benimamet district. It is an area that has been restored and is located next to the Bonany mill, which was built in the early 15th century on the Moncada irrigation canal.
.
The planning and design of the urbanization are closely related to the architecture of the buildings. The complex has been restored and designed with horizontal circulation between the areas, providing a functional and multipurpose environment. It is a place where you can enjoy outdoor spaces without losing the historical character of the location.
.
The project has rescued the entrances, walls, patio benches, and rural Valencian architecture associated with these buildings. The pavement is made up of agglomerated limestone pebbles of different shades from the quarries of the province, seamlessly blending with the essence of the place.
.
The distribution of the trees is based on the cultural link that emerged in the garden and the city as a result of the landscaping of its open spaces. The Platanus hispánica is introduced in the ceremony area, the Morus alba in the plaza, the Olea europaea, the Cupressus sempervirens and the Quercus ilex in the garden. The patio is emphasized with Ceratonia siliqua, a traditional meeting place at the end of the day.
.
The bush vegetation is in line with the criteria of biodiversity and natural landscape, gradually transforming the space into a living landscape.
