Collection of details – Giorgio Morandi House Museum
A collection of details of an artist's living space can reveal the deep connections to his or her visions.
Just as a collection of sounds familiar to a musician can tell us about his musical universe, so the domestic and intimate space of an artist tells us about the essence of his work.
Moving within the horizon circumscribed by the daily life of Giorgio Morandi, in his country house in Grizzana on the Bolognese Apennines, was a bit like listening to the voices that spoke to him and that continue to resonate in those spaces.
The result is a collection of images deliberately referring to the most domestic parts of his studio house, where one can still find those subtle and profound emotions that he left us in his paintings.
The timeless light flattens the historical perspective into a sort of active memory, and brings us inexorably closer to his world.
