Onyx
"Onyx" is a residence of 4 buildings whose architectural aesthetic is based on a minimalist style. The buildings function in pairs. They dialogue with each other while offering very different writing, black/white, rationality/shift, straight line/ inclination. What they have in common is sobriety.
The simple volumetry of the Millot Street buildings offers a first architectural writing. This black monolith, Onyx, is like a fine precious stone. The facades are adorned with dark bricks in order to assert a mineral materiality to the buildings. This sobriety links the commercial base to the residential buildings. The base is like an anthracite ribbon that from the Boulevard de la Beaujoire to the Rue Millot. It creates the link of the operation, the common thread. Large loggias and loggias and large bays contribute to the interior quality of the housing.
In contrast to the black buildings on Millot Street, two entirely white buildings are placed on this base. They offer a They offer a shifted writing. Indeed, the balconies come to swing around the cores of the buildings. The windows and bays offer a writing in variation and shift without systematism. A kinetic white lacquered guardrail, with vertical blades with vertical slats more or less inclined, makes the facades vibrate. These buildings offer generous balconies overlooking the garden and the terraces.
