Amidst Queretaro’s real estate boom, the commission of the project consisted on a house for selling that would take on the market’s inertia. In a suburban plot without particularities or final users, the proposal is a cryptic construction towards the street that overlooks inner terraces and an interior patio.
Spaces are organized on three separate volumes that encourage inhabitants to enjoy the warm weather of the area and practice everyday activities on the outside. This indoor-outdoor dynamic is accompanied by a continuous surface of travertine marble. In order to create long uninterrupted walls, service areas and bathrooms are hidden behind wood panels.
A fountain helps create a microclimate on the hottest area of the dwelling, cooling the patio and filling the adjacent areas with the sound of water bubbling.
Facing the patio, the cantilevered monolith rests upon sliding windows that hide beside walls; such a contradictory relationship is accentuated by hanging plants that emphasize gravity.
