SAINT-ESTEVE JANSON
Here, the geography and the landscape are marked by the river Durance. which has shaped them, slowly digging its bed between the hills, the Luberon mountain to the north and the Côtes massif to the south. Leaving a vast plain bordered by the successive plateaus which were in other times its ancient river beds. It is on one of the plateau, a small rocky promontory on the south side, where the village of Saint-Estève-Janson was built, keeping a distance from the river, renowned for its power and capriciousness, but close enough to benefit from this vast and rich territory, which is favorable to agriculture.
The requalification of the old town's public spaces is a project of embellishment and enhancement of the village and its amenity. By opposing the idea of generic development, by reducing the car's presence, our proposal aims to be coherent with the territory's physical characteristics, relying on the site topography and its materiality.
