House in the Woods
The house in the woods comes from a play dictated by memories. A shelter made, or only dreamed of. It evokes the memory of a 6-year-old's run to his grandparents' front door. The oval-shaped brass handle capable of softly accommodating the palm of the hand. The uniqueness of this object hints at a suspended and pleasant thought. The design searches for the spirituality of the space celebrating the memory and the life of a family as it grows and changes over time.
A central courtyard connects the landscape with fires apt to food preparation and time sharing, placed in the middle of the house, to divide the living from the sleeping scenery.
The structure gives the rhythm to the interior space. The pillars support the branching of the beams, which rest on the same mirrored element placed in front of them: each element is indispensable giving a meaning of existence to the one next to it.
