AJ APARTMENT
Starting from a simple plan, a renovation proposal for this apartment located in a building from the 50s' in São Paulo sought to reduce the number of internal rooms as much as possible to obtain maximum flexibility of use and natural lighting for indoor environments.
The materials following the same principle that guided the floor plan: ebonized wood and black frames, wired glass, concrete and white granite flooring. The concession to this rigor and simplicity is made in the choice of furniture, colorful and full of stories, in the plants and objects that make up the decoration - a mixture of work, leisure, nature and artifice.
From a programmatic point of view, this apartment has 4 rooms: the multipurpose room that is supported by the large closet throughout; a utility room that brings together laundry and kitchen and can be closed by four wired glass doors; the bedroom that is protected by the closet; and finally the bathroom, which, like the utility room, is bordered by wired glass doors. The objective of creating these divisions with cupboards and glass walls in favor of conventional walls was to make the boundaries between different environments less precise, more fluid and uncertain - each room expanding to its neighbor.
