Villa Bôrik
Villa corresponds in volume with its surroundings by hiding about a third of its program in an underground level. The house itself consists of three floors, each representing a different spatial organization (open common floor, a grid of private rooms, a system of interconnecting rooms). All floors are connected by a characteristic spiral staircase located outside the square floor plan of the central part of the house. Other specific elements of the villa, which complement its basic cubic volume, are the western “utility” façade forming a filter between the street and the interior and a triangular half span roof marking the entrance to the house on its northern side.
