Macchi house
The project consist in a single volume, inserted into the ground parallel to the length of the site, collocated near the access of the private road allowing a marked detachment to the west leaving the rest of place surrounded by the garden. Around the new volume, the existing land does not include changes to the course from the current natural terrain, except minimally for the pedestrian and vehicular accesses to facility the acces to the east.
The volumetric solution avoids the building of retaining walls toward neighboring boundaries and leaves the natural course of the land where the house naturally going up. The internally levels are adapting to the degradation of the natural land, articulating different room heights between the two orientations.
The internal organization thus provides the most private spaces in the east wing (on the ground floor a study, on the second floor the two rooms and two services) and meeting spaces on the west (on the ground floor the kitchen and dining, on the upper level the living room). A system of terraces establishes the main relationship between the interior and exterior spaces: a loggia resolves the south-facing views and the two other terraces open the living spaces to the west. All other perforations are small and are auxiliary to the opening system of the terraces.
The construction will be in concrete with accurate design of the formwork panels, while the window , door frames and curtain wall elements are made in aluminum, anthracite gray color for the external side and in wood for the inside.
