Red Brick Building
There was a house with a nice garden on the left side of Bukaksan. The rock and the garden seemed to have been a landlord for a long time, which was the land where we had to build a new life facility. The newly constructed building is located here as if it were an old house, keeping the environment of the bedrock, trees and gardens intact. It's difficult to design a rental building where you don't know what features will come in. People who rent here will make this space.
There was a house with a nice garden on the left side of Bukaksan. The rock and the garden seemed to have been a landlord for a long time, which was the land where we had to build a new life facility. Compared to the noise of Zahamun -ro, if you climb to this site, another world was opened with only the view of Bukaksan and the birds. Below, when you climb to the top of the noise of everyday life, Bukaksan has seen a different world like a world on the cloud.
We wanted to demolish the house while keeping the garden and bedrock intact, and put a new neighborhood facility in that location. By doing so, one element was added that allows you to see the garden as it is from the house from the nearby facilities and to enjoy the view of Bukaksan Mountain on the east side from the 3rd floor roof, which is higher than the 2nd floor house. On the roof, the view was arranged above the snow level and the privacy of the neighboring house was secured.
The roof is built on two floors. The roof on the 3rd floor is a yard to enjoy the view of Mt. Bukak from this building, and the roof on the 4th floor is made as a yard that does not go up to enjoy the view of Mt. Bukak and the back houses. Unlike the yard on the first floor, the view of Mt. Bukak had to be yielded so that the whole neighborhood could share it. Building in a neighborhood with a good view is not just romantic. The surrounding environment that I felt when I first consulted with the person in charge of the ward office regarding permission had to suffer until the end of the construction. As a result, a new concept of agreeing on an appropriate line and sharing a view is emerging so that we can enjoy the view together.
The inner plan has a core in the center, and on each floor there are nearby facilities of 40 pyeong each on the yard side and Bukaksan mountain side. The buildings on both sides resembled twin buildings. Buildings were laid along the rocky conditions of the site, and the stone road leading up to the existing house was maintained as well as a new movement line that could be entered directly from the underground road to create a path and entrance to the yard on the 1st floor.
As a result, the newly constructed building is located here as if it were an old house, keeping the environment of the bedrock, trees and gardens intact. It's difficult to design a rental building where you don't know what features will come in. People who rent here will make this space.
