A house in the center of Madrid with character and traditional construction elements. The integral refurbishment project reinterprets the constructive language embracing the existing tile floors and combining them with bespoke wood carpentry that generates pleasant contrasts and warmth for the new home. Differentiating elements that separate us from the most common standardized homes to create quality, unique and personalized spaces.
The intervention revolves around a package of more private uses camouflaged in the wood carpentry that includes and unifies the kitchen, the accesses to the bedrooms and bathrooms and maximizes the available storage. In addition, the birch wood contrasts with the existing floors and the large longitudinal mirror multiplies the space of the distributor that connects from the entrance to the living-dining room space with balconies to the outside and reflects natural light from one end of the house to the other.
The original pavements are sincere and preserve the morphology of the old layout, finished off with microcement. The metal structure is stripped bare and merges and is included in the house through the color green, forming part of the set of carpentry and spaces. The kitchen is also part of the carpentry package and acts as a catalyst between the main living space and the rest of the house with a diagonal that opens towards the light.
