Casa Coco
The apartment is placed inside a late 18th century block of flats in the heart of Milan, and occupies the fourth and the fifth floors.
The main element was to introduce a totally new stair inside an old structure, using it like a pivot around which the different spaces of the apartment open themselves.
The material moodboard merges elegant and valuable materials with strong and coarse ones mixing them in combination where the difference and the very particular features of them are enhanced in a sort of musical counterpoint.
So for example, the stairs is a matt block of natural stone, designed in a very solid way that talks to the shiny and precious banister in solid brass, and just a little bit farther the waxed industrial and almost black iron of the upper part of the gives the right background to the Levanto marble in the kitchen.
On the upper floor, the night area, the contrasts become softer and more relaxed and natural oak, leather and glossy lacquered boiserie goes along.
The dark and brushed open pore oak parquet and the white painted walls are the common playground for all the rooms.
