Dos Casas y Estudio
It’s a project of deep remodeling, which recovers a house from the fifties built-in Chimalistac, without apparent heritage value and with an eclectic language, to be transformed into two houses and a studio. The project consisted of subdividing the functions of the new spaces like Lego and weaving with the existing structural axes. Precise demolitions were made to bring light and ventilation to these spaces, generating double heights, new domes, and new internal courtyards. The house has a surprising tour and introspective spaces that always seek to connect with a bit of the outdoors, a hint of the sky, a tree, or an interior patio.
The complex language is the result of preserving certain proportions or materials of the old house and not making an effort to hide new elements such as blacksmith doors with vertical proportions, circular accents in skylights or walls of concrete, among others.
