Hamburger Kunsthalle Restoration 2016
The Hamburger Kunsthalle (Museum of Art) consist of three buildings build in 1869, 1912 and 1996. The initial building was designed by the Architects Schirrmacher and von der Hude in 1869. This building was restored by LH Architects in the years 2014 -2016. The old main entrance was reopened and the whole building is now more easily accessable for the broad public. Inside the new entrance situation created new routes to experience the museum. Also the lighting was modernized and floors were renewed. On the northside a 4 story extension building was attached, which now hosts offices and restoration workshops.
