RuE DES COuTuRES SAINT-GERvAIS
The apartment is located on the first floor of an old building in the heart of the Marais district in Paris. The new Extension is a white steel structure. The kitchen and the white structure of the extension are bright and light, contrasting with the rest of the apartment, which is deep-rooted in the past. By creating openings and views between these two parts, we accentuated the labyrinthine side of the apartment. All the rooms have been renovated and their proportions have been revisited to bring maximum comfort and generosity into everyday life.
The corners of the worktop are rounded, harmonizing with the softness sought for the entire room. Bespoke doorknobs with an irregular rhythm add a playful touch to the kitchen. The stainless-steel worktop is 2 times wider than the standard dimensions. This adds to the feeling of generosity of the space.
Upon entering the apartment, we can see the prestigious sculptures of the Picasso Museum towards the living room windows. To the left, the entrance is unlit and coloured by the 6-metre-long red curtain. To the right we see the kitchen under the new bright and light steel structure.
