STUDIO FOR A DESIGNER
There is a need to convert a few old horse stables into a studio for a designer. With a tight budget, resources are optimized in order to convert the site into a new workspace. The main strategy here is to generate an isolated space by integrating it into the existing context to generate a comfortable capsule.
A space within a space.
The project is configured through a prismatic space of 8 m x 3 m x 3 m, which is inserted under the existing construction. The arrangement of the box within the abandoned architecture of the place generates spaces of opportunity, with multiple possibilities of use.
The chosen construction system is the light framing, both for the ceiling and closures. This system allows the user to self-build the module. Two people and a drill sufficed to assemble the entire structure, closures and finishes in a very easy way over a summer. The project is completely built by means of the lightweight technique. The project, entirely made of wood, has been assembled with bolted joints and is completely mountable and removable.
The set provides the comfort and habitability conditions necessary to develop the activity. Good recycled cotton insulation and a reduced size help generate the desired comfort conditions quickly.
