Regarding the materials, the importance of the original hydraulic pavement is the first priority, which is restored and rebuilt, recovering its color and liveliness. In some areas where the restoration is not possible, white microcement is used. This modern material harmonizes with the old one and so they are perceived as only one.
_The Project consists of a completely renovated housing located on a chamfered corner of the expansion district of Valencia.
_The 88 sqm apartment was arranged in the traditional excessively compartmentalized spaces where different layers of materials and installations had been overlapped over the years.
_With the new project outline, the spaces are simplified and those with different uses are joined in order to get bigger and brighter rooms that adapt to our current lifestyle.
_Linked to the façade that overlooks the street, a day area with living/ dining room, kitchen and study room is created. The kitchen furniture is integrated in the living room, becoming a small study.
_In this space there is a pillar that sets limits. Around it, a custom-made shelving helps create the entrance hall that also limits the direct view on the kitchen. We can also find a big square table made with two solid oak tops that can be divided in order to change the position and proportion of the table.
