Vanke Pavillion
The Vanke Pavillion is located in the north of Xigang Park. The design concept for the building is "Between Virtual and Real, a Semi Courtyard".
The building is divided into the East and the West part. For the space between two parts, a courtyard surrounded by translucent U-shaped glass on the north is open to the building and external environment; on the south, the two-story outdoor platform connects two parts, on which there are holes, the trees on the ground can extend into the second floor through the holesto realize the upper and lower connection of the space. From the construction materials, the two-story building body is like a sandstone mountain. The glass enclosure on ground ensures the penetrating relationship between sight and landscape. The contrast between artificial sandstone hanging board and high-permeability laminated glass further emphasizes the contrast between the "Virtual and Real", and the weight relationship of upside down is also a hint of volume and quality.
In terms of spatial relationship, we emphasize the superposition and connection on the spatial level, so as to realize the multiple space transformation from the external environment to the building to the courtyard, then from the building back to the courtyard, so as to complete the modern deduction of traditional courtyard and garden, and emphasize the sight blocking and space hint of people. The nonexistent door, bridge, transparent suspension, light change, and multi angle view of the scene are just like the space expressed in the sketch, which seems disorderly but actually rigorous. We try to spread out, show, and rearrange. The concept of "Between" continues to extend. It no longer points to distance or room, but describes a state of space. This state is natural and harmonious, and there is no internal and external difference. Therefore, the courtyard is the building, and the building is the courtyard.
In addition, we not only have the spatial "virtual and real" changes, but also realize the internal and external combination and change through functional arrangement.
The platform extending from the teahouse to the glass courtyard is not only the extension of the teahouse, but also a small stage for lectures and music performances. In this way, the glass courtyard becomes a venue for performance, while the interior space of the teahouse becomes a temporary backstage, and the box extending from the second floor into the glass courtyard becomes the second floor audience Everything can be superimposed.
